Illinois Legislature May Give Quinn Extra Time for Budget

An Illinois House committee today endorsed a bill that will give Governor Patrick Quinn an additional month to plan his budget proposal. His budget address, scheduled for February 17, would be delayed until March 17 if the bill is passed by both houses. Unfortunately, this also has the impact of giving the legislature less time to consider its legislative responses to the Governor's budget proposal.
